I believe one of my purposes in life is to help others reach their goals. Perhaps most mothers feel that way. There’s part of being a photographer that’s like that too — whether it’s the renovation of a family home, the production of a Shakesperian tragedy by secondary school students, the celebration of a company’s anniversary, a march of earnest protestors or a wedding. It was especially fulfilling for me to help a dear friend bring her painted silk scarves and fashion dreams to life. We’re still in the beginning stages of marketing, but the progress is exciting. This past February she found a model and the three of us went to the Kew Gardens’ Princess of Wales Conservatory where the Orchid Festival was on and also the Palm House — classic and perfect backdrops for Gudy’s exuberant floral silk creations. I feel like I’m part of something truly wonderful.
