On the 23rd of April I had the great privilege of photographing the nautical wedding celebration of Jacqui & Nick Taimitarha. This took place on one of Turk Launches‘ boats leaving from the White Cross pub in Richmond, cruising westward on the Thames past Eel Pie Island, Twickenham and Strawberry Hill, through the Teddington Lock and then on to Kingston and landing briefly at Hampton Court Palace. I’m proud to say that not only are Jacqui & Nick two of my best clients who were instrumental in the early days of my business, they’re also now my friends. Together they have a consultancy for SMEs called Hotspot Marketing and also a run a B to C and networking company called the Best of Richmond. They also share a passion for rowing on the Thames which they practice from a club in Richmond. In fact they even live on the Thames! The story of their engagement in Lapland with a backdrop of the Northern Lights has to be one of the most romantic I’ve ever heard.
It was such a pleasure and privilege to photograph Jacqui & Nick’s wedding celebration. In their guidance to me for the afternoon, Jacqui simply said, ‘Mary Beth, do what you do best – capturing candid, relaxed shots.’ That I can do and did on the day. And also managed to corral a few small configurations for family and group shots.
I provided Jacqui & Nick with both a slideshow with accompanying music as well as a photobook which you can see here:
And here I provide a selection of some of my favourite photos from the day.
