Taking Action on an Anniversary

Saturday the 3rd of March 2018 was the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the Liberal Democratic Party, formed in 1988 as a merger of the Liberal Party and the Social Democratic Party (a splinter group from the Labour Party).  Seven years before the creation of the Lib Dems, the two parties had formed the SDP-Liberal Alliance.  Last Saturday, the Kew Lib Dems held a day of action with its three candidates for the council organising and participating in canvassing in Kew and North Richmond.   I have to say that I feel more purposeful politically in finally actually joining and contributing to a party that shares my concerns and beliefs about the best and most just way forward for our country and village.
