The Best Festival in February

April may be the cruellest month according to TS Elliot, but February is certainly the coldest here in London.  It’s basically the bleak mid-winter.  The January sales are over and spring is infinitely far away it seems.  That’s why the best activity to indulge your senses, transporting you to a tropical paradise with a superabundance of brilliant orchids and humidity to remind you of holidays past.  This is the Orchid Festival 2018 at Kew Gardens.  I haven’t missed one in six years.  As I was with a dear friend, @blossomgudy, who paints masterful floral creations on silk, I didn’t take very many photos this year, but the company and chat were worth it.  The visuals were enough to inspire us both, I think, at least until next year.
