The most exciting aspect of the London residential extension trend is the moment when one steps from a traditional Victorian or Edwardian terrace’s hall into a contemporary kitchen extension and the only word that comes to one’s lips is ‘wow.’ A prime example of this happened to me when I went to photograph an IPS-Pronorm kitchen in Raynes Park recently. I’ve never seen such an expanse of bifold doors in suburban London. By virtue of its configuration, the patio was an integral part of the living space and the light, warmth and colour of the garden just infused the built area. I honestly felt like I was at a holiday resort. How wonderful would that feel every day of the year?
